Conduct RIMS MTS written exam before April 5

TMB Report

Imphal: Contractual Staff of Regional Institute of Medical Science(RIMS) while decrying the postponment of the written examination of Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) which has been delayed since 2016 demanded to conduct the written examination by April 5.

Talking to media persons at a press meet held at RIMS OPD Block on Sunday, Contractal Staff RIMS, Sagolsem Sanatomba informed that the examination for MTS which was delayed since 2016 was scheduled to be conducted on Sunday however, without any probable causes and without mentioning any reason, the examination was postponed until further notice in the last minute.

He stated that contractual staff of RIMS will launch various forms of agitation if the written examination is not conducted before April 5.

Another staff strongly condemned deferment of the exam which frustrated the candidates who came to appear the examination with full zeal and interest.

He questioned why the examination was not postponed two to three days ahead with proper information.

He appealed to the concerned authority to informed those who are to appear the examination if there is any form of pressure and reservation demands from any pressure groups or organisation and stated that if the examination is not conducted before April 5, various forms of agitation will be launched.

Stating that there are around 404 contractual staff in the hospital who have been working in the hospital for 22 years without any regular posts, he said that MTS staff have not been regularised for around two years and the contractual staff had high hopes as the new Director and the officials have informed about the written examination for regular posts. The Director has also called support to carry out the examination free and fair without any form of influence, he added.

He believed that there is some sort of pressure from the pressure groups and organisations regarding reservation which has compelled RIMS authority to postpone the examination. He appealed to the concerned authority to conduct the examination at the earliest or the contract staff will launch cease work strike.
