Imphal: A two-day long media workshop for newly recruited Desk Editors and Part Time Correspondents (PTCs) of the Regional News Unit, All India Radio, Imphal kicked off at the Conference hall of AIR Imphal at Palace Compound on Friday.
Director (E) and Head of Office, AIR Imphal N Nandakumar graced the function as Chief Guest while Head of Programme, AIR Imphal, Adhikarimayum Gitchandra Sharma,Programme Executive (Co-ordination) AIR Imphal, Tokeshwori Elangbam and Asst Director (News) & Head of RNU, AIR Imphal attended as Guest of Honour, Special Guest and Functional President respectively.
Newly recruited Desk Editors and PTCs of AIR Imphal attended the technical session of the media workshop. RNU, DDK Imphal News Editor Nongmaithem Nando who spoke as an expert at the workshop elaborated on how to select and prepare news for radio broadcasting. RNU, AIR Imphal News reader & Translator Ngangom Kiran and AIR Imphal Office Assistant Sarangthem Jibanlata trained the new news
staff on sound editing.
On the last day of the workshop, the Desk Editors and PTCs will be trained on taking sound byte, voice cast and other related works of the AIR.
