Imphal: RIMS Director Dr H Priyosakhi has appealed to All Tribal Students Union Manipur (ATSUM) to withdraw the Total shut down regarding the reservation of recruitment in RIMS.
Addressing the media in a press meet held at the conference room, Jubilee Hall on Sunday, Director H Priyosakhi stated that the RIMS authority has no right over the reservation policy as it has been decided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. RIMS authority has also apprised the Ministry about the issue and is still waiting for a response and that the RIMS authority is trying to solve the issue at its best.
She said that the delay in receiving any information from the ministry has hindered the full implementation of reservation policy as recently agreed between RIMS authority and ATSUM.
Stating that RIMS is an institution under the centre, she said that the authority of RIMS has no power regarding the reservation in admission and recruitment by adopting a new policy.
She said that the RIMS authority has also submitted a written application regarding the matter and appealed to ATSUM to withdraw the bandh and repeal their agitation as there is no decision and order from the Centre yet.
