Imphal: Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM) has lauded the initiative of Manipur University Controller of Examination for announcing examination interchange for college examination as it will aid in bringing quality education in the state.
A press release issued by Secretary Publicity & Propaganda DESAM, Thoudam Shyamjai stated that a press release by DESAM on March 4, 2023 announced that DESAM will start examining the graduate level examination.
DESAM has also taken keen initiative in monitoring Class X and XII examination in order to bring quality education however, graduate level examination for B.A/B.Sc./B.com are not taken seriously and students can freely do anything in examination hall and it is well known that various unfair means are used.
The release stated that graduate level examination must be taken seriously as competitive exam like MPSC Examination, UPSC examination and SSC exams are conducted for graduate level and college examination must be taken seriously and must be keenly monitored.
In order to bring reformation in Examination and Teaching learning, DESAM has proposed to different colleges and institutions not to conduct examinations in their respective colleges and a press release issued on March 4 2023 elaborated the provisions and reasons for the need of examination interchange. The release had stated those who go against the decision of will be considered as an enemy of quality education in the state.
DESAM had urged Controller of Examination, Manipur University, Assistant Registrar, Senior Scale Manipur University, Registrar, Manipur University, Vice Chancellor, Manipur University, Directorate of University and Higher Education Additional Director and Education Minister for examination interchange.
As a result on March 6, Manipur University Vice Chancellor, Registrar controller, Manipur University, Examination and concerned executive had organised a meeting at Manipur university Court Hall regarding the discussion of examination interchange in which principals of colleges and institutions providing B.A/B.Sc/B.Com education and students bodies has taken part. The release appreciated the initiative of the principals of the colleges and institutions.
The release asserted that through media it was announced on April 11, 2023 it was announced by Controller of Examination. Manipur University that BA/B.Sc, /B.com Examination will not be conducted in the respective colleges but examination interchange will take place. DESAM applauded the initiative of the concerned authority and stated that teachers, principal, college authority, guardians and students must support the decision and believed that not against it as it will help in bringing quality education in the state.
DESAM affirmed that the student body has been continuously working to bring quality education in the state and will support anything which will aid it in the state and DESAM applauded Examination Standing committee (UG), government and concerned authority for taking the initiative.
