Imphal: All Manipur Ethnical Socio-cultural Organisation (AMESCO) president Loitongbam Ibotombi said that the organisation will permanently remove the words “Ching-Tam”,  “Chingmi-Tammi”, “Chingburoi-Tamburoi” from their organisation contending that the communities are children of the same mother. 

AMESCO organised Sajibu Khudol Tamba Eegi Khonggul Liba-2023 at Sangaiprou Kabui Khul Community Hall where social scientist Dr Dhanabir Laishram, Editor of Huieyen Lanpao, Maibam Dhanabir Meetei and Khunbu Sangaiprou Kabui Khul, Palmei Chingkhusong attended as presidium members.

Ibotombi said that while searching for the roots of the different communities in the state, it has been established that before embracing Vaishnavism, different communities are children of the same mother and that they are equal and united.

 He stated that the program was held in the Manipuri month of Sajibu as the three flowers Kusumlei, Kombirei and Leiri are flowers which depict the end of a year and symbolise the beginning of a new year.

 He appealed to the communities to work together for development and prosperity of the statekeeping in mind that we are all brother and sisters of the same mother. 

Editor of Huieyen Lanpao, Maibam Dhanabir Meetei that Sajibu Khudol Tamba Eegi Khonggul Liba program is the need of the hour as the indigenous communities of the state have been influenced greatly by external forces causing hatred among the communities.

General Secretary AMESCO, Joy Ningthoujam said that AMESCO established in 1972 is one of the oldest organizations in the state which is taking the initiative to unite the different communities of the state.
