Mass protest demands justice for Rajesh

Imphal: Locals staged protest demonstration at Singjamei Thongkhong on Sunday demanding justice for Kshetrimayum Rajesh who died in a Hit and Run incident occured on March 5 

at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai near oil pump.

Talking to media persons on the sideline of the protest, JAC member Khangembam Omalia said that in connection with the accident, the JAC had filed a complaint with the concerned police station just after the incident but the police department is yet to book the culprit till date. When  the JAC and local meira paibi enquired about the case, the concerned PS only informed that they are trying their best level to book the culprit. 

She drew attention of the state government to look into the matter seriously to deliver speedy justice to the victim. She appealed to whoever is involved the accident to come forward for a talk and appealed to those people to extend support to the victim and his family members.

She said that at present, the victim is still undergoing treatment in ICU at Shija Hospitals, she adding said that the bill of treatment has been reached around Rs. 10 lakhs now, which is unable to afford the expense due to the poor condition of the family. If the concerned authorities failed to book the culprit then the JAC will be launching series of strong agitations in the future, she stated
