Imphal (DIPR): Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched on Saturday for the State at Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Utlou in Bishnupur district. The programme was attended by Education Minister Th. Basanta Kumar, former Union Minister Th. Chaoba Singh, Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, Addl Chief Secretary M.H Khan, Commissioner (Agriculture) RK. Dinesh, Commissioner (CAF &PD) Bobby Waikhom and senior officials of the Government of Manipur.
Giving the keynote address at the function, Commissioner Agriculture RK. Dinesh said that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was launched by the Government of India to reach out benefits of various schemes taken up by the Government to the people. He said that the Yatra will be held in each district for three days.
He informed that during these three days, IEC (Information, Education & Communication) Van will visit every nook and corner of the villages and give awareness of various schemes taken up by the government.
Later, Education Minister Basanta Kumar led the gathering in taking the “Hamara Sankalp Viksit Bharat” pledge. The dignitaries also flagged off the IEC van.
As part of the programme, video clippings of various schemes of different departments were shown. The departments include MAHUD on PMAY(U), SBM, NULM; Health on Ayushman Bharat; PHED on Jal Jeevan Mission, MNREGA, PMAY (R); CAF& PD on Ujjawala Mission and Agriculture on PM KISSAN, SMAM, PMKSY & RKVY.
Later, the beneficiaries interacted with the Prime Minister through video conferences. A health camp was also organised at Kha Sanjenbam.
It may be mentioned that Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra was introduced by the Government of India on November 15 on the occasion of Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, with the aim to give nationwide campaign and to raise awareness through outreach activities to achieve saturation of schemes.
The main objectives of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra are to reach out to the vulnerable who are eligible under various schemes but have not avail benefit so far, dissemination of information and generating awareness about various schemes, interaction with beneficiaries and enrolment of potential beneficiaries and enrolment of potential beneficiaries through detail ascertained during the yatra. This required concerted efforts across the board as well as active people’s participation (Jan Bhagidari) to ensure that the last mile and the most vulnerable are reached effectively.
