Imphal: The Ministry of Health & Family has appoinred Dr. Guruaribam Sunil Kumar Sharma as the new Director of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post, or up to the age of superannuation in his parent cadre, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
An order to this effect was issued by the Deputy Secretary to the Government of India on Monday.
As per the order, the Ministry approved the appointment of Dr. Guruaribam Sunil Kumar Sharma, Director Professor (Forensic Medicine & Toxicology), Vardhman Mahavir Medical College and Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi to the post of Director, Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal in the scale of pay of Rs. 67,000-79,000 (restricted to a maximum of Rs.85000 including NPA) (pre-revised), on deputation on foreign service
(including short-term contract) basis for a period of 05 years with effect from the date
of assumption of charge of the post, or upto the age of superannuation in his parent cadre, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.
The appointment was made in pursuance of approval of the Appointment Committee of Cabinet conveyed vide DoPT order issued on May 1. Appointment of Dr. Guruaribam Sunil Kumar Sharma to the post of Director, RIMS, Imphal on deputation on foreign service (including short-term contract) basis will be regulated by the instructions issued by the Government of lndia from time to time, it stated.
It requested Dr. Guruaribam Sunil Kumar Sharma to join the post of Director, RIMS, Imphal within one month of issue of this order.
Mention may be made that Dr. Guruaribam Sunil Kumar Shama was born on April 1, 1972 to Late Guruaribam Bangkabihari Sharma and Late Radhe Devi of Brahmapur Guruaribarn Leikai, Imphal East.
He cleared matriculation from 1st MR High School in 1987 and Class 12 exam from Johnstone Higher Secondary School in 1989. He studied MBBS in RIMS Imphal in 1989 and MD (Forensic Sciences) in AIIMS in 1998.
He then joined CHS (Contour Health Services) under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare as Assistant Professor at VMMC & SJ Hospital New Delhi in 2007.
