Imphal: Liangmai organizations including Liangmai Naga Council Eastern Zone (LNC-EZ), Eastern Liangmai Chief Chairman Association (ELCCA) and Ahangruak Chief Chairman Association (ACCA) have extended gratitude to 44 Assam Rifles of IGAR (East) for the humanitarian assistance provided during the ongoing pandemic.
A joint press statement of the Liangmai organisations conveyed that the Banglabung post of 44 AR has not only maintained the law and order situation along the Imphal-Tamei (IT) road but it has been carrying out mobile Covid-19 vaccination cum medical camps in the I.T road area reaching out to far flung villages. It has conducted mobile vaccination drives, extended door to door to medical services, organised Covid awareness cum sanitisation drives, tree plantation drives and career counseling etc.
The statement further informed that the renovation works at Government Senior Secondary School, Gelnel is nearing completion and the Women Society office building in Dikiuram which serves as a Mahila Shakti Kendra was also renovated by the Assam Rifles.
For all the social works, development and welfare actions initiated by the unit, the Laingmei bodies extended gratitude to 44 Assam Rifles for helping the people during the prevailing critical Covid situation and hoped that the unit will continue to take up more such initiatives in near future to uplift the lives of people in Liangmai area.
