Imphal: The last rites of Army Jawan Majar M Pritam Singh from Luker, Imphal West district who died due to climate hazards while deployed in an Operational Area on April 3, 2024 were performed at his native place with full military honours on Friday evening.
The mortal remains of Major M Pritam Singh arrived at Imphal Airport on Friday afternoon. His lifeless was received by the senior military officers. As a mark of respect and military traditions, all present paid floral tributes at the Imphal Airport.
Later, the mortal remains were taken to the officer’s residence in Luker, Imphal West district where his cremation ceremony was held with full military honours, in presence of senior military officials, representatives of civil administration and family members.
Major M Pritam Singh was commissioned into Indian Army on December 9, 2017, after successful training at Army Cadet College and Indian Military Academy, Dehradun. The officer was an avid sportsman and enjoyed love and respect by all ranks of his battalion, said an official statement released by PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh.
