Imphal: A joint team of the State Police and Central Security forces recovered and seized a cache of arms, explosives, and ammunition from the fringe and vulnerable area of jungle of Kangpokpi district on Thursday, an official statement said.
Acting on specific intelligence of the presence of arms and ammunition in the general area of Singda Dam and Kharam Vaiphei, Kangpokpi District, the joint team launched a joint search operation using metal detectors and sniffer dogs.
During the said search operation, the team recovered one Improvised Mortar, one carbine machine gun with magazine, one 9mm pistol with magazine, one 12 Bore Gun, two No. 36 Hand Grenade, two 2-inch Mortar Bomb, 11 live rounds, and 26 empty cases.
The recovered items has been handed over to the concerned Police Station for further necessary action, the official statement added
