Imphal: The second half-yearly meeting of the Town Official Language Implementation Committee (Office-1), Shillong for the year 2023-24 was held on Thursday in the Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong under the Chairmanship of Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Ph.D., Director General Assam Rifles.

A total of 72 Heads of Office and other officers of various Central Government offices located in Shillong including senior officers of Directorate General Assam Rifles Headquarters attended the meeting.

Asitkamal, Hindi Officer, GSO-1 (Education) and Secretary, Town Official Language Implementation Committee of the very Directorate gave the welcome speech and thereafter, agenda points for implementing the Official Language Policy were discussed during the meeting.

Director General Assam Rifles emphasized the need to use Hindi more and more in official work with the aim of unity and development of our country. He also appreciated the sincere efforts and work done by the member offices for implementing the Official Language of Hindi.

Three offices were also awarded with Rajbhasha Shield and five offices with commendation certificates for their efforts in implementing the Official Language Hindi.

During this meeting, the 18th issue of Town Official Language Implementation Committee Magazine ‘PoorvaPrahari’ was also released by Lieutenant General Pradeep Chandran Nair, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, Ph.D, Director General Assam Rifles.
