Thoubal: A team of Lilong Police have arrested a man red handed with stolen geese on Saturday.
As per police sources, the arrested person was identified as Md. Yunus khan, 20, son of Late MV Ashatullah of Lilong Haoreibi Turel Ahanbi. He was arrested from his residence on Saturday at around 7.30 am along with a A-Star car bearing registration number MN01G-3397 which was used in stealing the goosses and 16 numbers of stolen geese from his possession.
The source informed that on saturday at 6.30 am, Lilong PS had received a complaint report filed by one Md. Amjad khan, 45,son of Late Najir Ali of Lilong Chingjao stating that on the same day at around 3 am some unknown persons have stolen away 16 numbers of goosses from his farm located at Lilong Chingjao.
The source continued that in the meantime, a reliable tip off regarding the presence of some stolen gooses at the residence of Md. Yunus khan was recieved at Lilong PS.
Without delay, the police source added,a team of Lilong PS consisting of SI. PM Murtaza led by OC Lilong PS Inspector N. Tikendro Meitei, under the supervision of Senior SP Thoubal Jogeshchandra Haobijam rushed to the said area and conducted searched operation at the residence of Md.Yunus Khan by observing due formalities.
The source informed that during the search, Md. Yunus khan was picked up and on preliminary interrogation he disclosed that the said gosses were stolen from a farm located at Lilong Chingjao area.
He was arrested and a case has been registered against him under case Fir no 35(4) 2023 LIL PS U/S 379 IPC for further investigation, the police source disclosed.
