Imphal: A team of Imphal Police Station led by its OC N. Ingocha Singh arrested six persons who came to throw garbage, waste material and dirt in Nambul River and other areas of Imphal City.
Notably, the arrest came a day after Chief Minister N. Biren Singh during the 173rd death anniversary observance of Maharaj Narasingh warned that action will be initiated against those found dumping waste materials in Nambul River.
The arrested persons have been identified as Rowland Soibam of Babupara; Kangabam Nikhil Mangang of Thangmeiband Hijam Leikai; Haorungbam Dayananda Singh of Thangmeiband Lourung Purel Leikai; Kangabam Sailesh Singh of Moirangkhom Janmasthan; Denish Sanasam of Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak and Thongam Allen Meitei of Thangmeiband Hijam Dewan Leikai.
Imphal West District Police said that they will continue to work for clean Nambul River and clean Imphal city.
