Armed miscreants confiscate arms from SoO camp

Ccpur, April 9: Unidentified  gunmen reportedly confiscated weapons from a designated camp belonging to SoO groups on the intervening night of April 9 and 10.

Sources informed that the incident occurred at a designated camp located in the general area of Chongkhozou under Henglep police station in Churachandpur district. The camp was reportedly occupied jointly by the United Socialist Revolutionary Army (USRA), United Tribal Liberation Army (UTLA) and Kuki National Front – Zougam (KNF-Z).

The unidentified armed persons, suspected to be the cadres of Kuki International Army (KIA/KIO), overpower the camp and confiscated weapons around 1am of April 10. It is also heard that most of the confiscated weapons belong to KNF-Z. However, the same is subject to confirmation.

The number of confiscated weapons is said to be around 25. However, till the filing of this report, the same is yet to be verified by the concerned Police station.

Notably, the KIA chief, who was reportedly the mastermind behind the confiscation of  weapons from the designated camp of the SoO group, was wanted by the state police with a bounty of Rs. 50,000 on his head.
