Candidates storm CM bungalow

TMB Report
Imphal: Demanding the State Government the recruitment result of the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) of Education (S) department, the aggrieved candidates mobilised by the Joint Action Committee-Education (s) Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) Written Completed 2016 & 2018 attempted to storm the CM Secretariat on Wednesday.
A brief scuffle between the state police and the protesters occurred near the gate of the CM bungalow when the former tried to force back them.
Talking to the media persons on the sideline of the protest, JAC Convenor Warepam Leviticus said that the written exam for the education (s) MTS recruitment was conducted on March 10, 2019 when Dr. Radheshyam Singh was then Education Minister but the result has been delayed for the last five years. Frustrated, the candidates have decided to launch the agitation to get a final response of the concerned authorities whether they will declare the result or not. He said that due to delay in result declaration by the concerned authorities for the last five years, academic age of majority of the candidates who faced the examination is going to cross the limit. In January this year, the JAC has submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister N. Biren Singh to initiate action and declare the pending result.
He said that the first notification for the MTS recruitment was issued during the then Congress led state government in 2016, subsequently, the notification of the recruitment was re-issued again by the present BJP led-State Government in 2018. What the candidates want is the final response from the BJP led-state government under the leadership of CM N Biren Singh.
Representatives of the JAC met and discussed twice with the present Education Minister Th. Basantakumar Singh in which he said that he had tried his best level to declare result except for signature of the CM. Leviticus informed that memorandum has been also submitted to the Ministers, MLAs but no positive response received from them also so the JAC called this agitation demanding for final response from the
side of concerned authorities. Earlier, the JAC tried to compelled bandh but looking at the ongoing HSLC exam and in the larger interest of the students, the JAC decided the agitation, he added.
The JAC demand is final response or decision from the side of concerned authorities, whether declaring or to cancelled. A total of 26, 000 plus has given the written exam of Edu (s) MTS for 413 posts.
