Imphal: Acting on a tip off, a team of Special CDO Unit, Khabeisoi, Imphal East led by Subedar L. Bebekananda Singh, OC SPL CDO under the supervision of Th. Krishnatombi Singh, Superintendent of Police/Railway & In-charge of Special Commando Unit, Khabeisoi arrested four leaders of NSCN(IM) while conducting frisking and checking at Inter State Bus Terminus, Khuman Lampak on Thursday.
As informed by a source, based on a specific input received from 16 Assam Rifles regarding the presence of suspected persons of National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM) in the general area of Inter State Bus Terminus (ISBT), Khuman Lampak in Imphal West, a team of Special CDO Unit, Khabeisoi conducted frisking and checking at the area at around 9.45 AM. The operation was also a part of the precaution measures taken up in connection with the ongoing Manipur Legislative Assembly session.
During the frisking and checking, four unknown suspected persons coming by foot were detained for verification. On verification they identified themselves as Pfoziio Kayina (35) alias Thohri Kayina, son of Late Eheni Kayina of Tadubi, Senapati district; Setoi Yeptha (32), son of Zhevukhu Yeptha of Zunheboto, Sarmi district, Nagaland; Arippo Zelang (30), son of Late Motrong of Machecum Dimapur, Nagaland and Khareiting Mung (39), son of Phungpha of Ajungtag, Ukhrul district.
On further verification, they disclosed that Pfoziio Kayina (Army no. 42382) joined NSCN(IM) in 2010 and got basic military training at General Training Field HQ Kaphire district, Nagaland. His rank is Lieutenant of NSCN(IM). He was working under the command of one Temjen Brigadier of NSCN-IM.
Khareiting Mung (Army no. 0P2431145) joined the outfit in 2002 through Major Unaopem Tangkhul and got basic military training at Hebron, Nagaland. His rank is Lieutenant.
He was working under the command of Colonel Ayo of NSCN-IM. Setoi Yeptha (Army no. 80829) joined the outfit in 2009 and got basic military training at Hebron Training Centre, Dimapur. His rank is 2nd Lieutenant. Arippo Zelang (Army no.44061) joined the outfit in 2021 through one Sumoil Zelang and got basic military training at Hebron Training Centre, Dimapur. His rank is Corporal, the source disclosed.
They were arrested at the spot at around 10.30 AM. Three mobile phones Samsung Galaxy (dark blue in colour) bearing Jio Sim card having mobile no. 9366340338, Poco (grey in colour) bearing Jio Sim card having mobile no. 7005069755 and Redmi (blue in colour) bearing Jio Sim card having mobile no. 9863707312 were seized from their possession.
The arrested persons have been handed over to Imphal Police Station for taking up further legal action against them, it conveyed.
