L Ronaldo, Bindyarani bag gold medals, State girls thrashed TN by 5-2 goals

Imphal: L Ronaldo, S Bindyarani bagged gold medal while Manipur thrashed Tamil Nadu defeated Tamil Nadu by 5-2 goals in Football event of the opening match on the third day of the 36th National Games 2022 held at Gujarat.
Manipur secured 11 medals including 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals in the ongoing competition.
In the Cycling event of 1 Km Time Trial L Ronaldo bagged the gold medal. Sorokhaibam Bindyarani claimed Weightlifting gold medal in 59 Kg category.
M Sonali Chanu won silver medal in 500 m Time Trial event. T Manorama got the bronze medal in the 10 Km Scratch Race category.
In the Fencing Foil Girl event L Anita fetched silver medal and N Mina won bronze medal.
In the Women Football Event, Manipur defeated Tamil Nadu by 5-2 goals as Roja scored the first goal in the 13th minute while Rinaroy collected two goals in the 21st and 47th minute followed by Ng Bala and Priyanka also added one goal each in the 32nd and 90th minute respectively of the match.
Earlier, Manipur Saikhom Mirabai clinched the gold medal which accounted for Manipur medal tally yesterday at 49 Kg category. Mirabai also lifted 191 Kg of 8 Kg in Snatch and 107 Kg in Clean and Jerk.
