Imphal: A team of Lilong Police Station led by ASI Md. Giyasuddin has arrested one vehicle lifter while conducting frisking and checking of vehicles for enforcing curfew at Lilong Turel Ahanbi Dam on Wednesday around 5:30 pm.
According to police sources, the arrested person was identified as Md. Ayub Khan @ Mane (28 years), son of Mv. Abdul Jalil @ Tomba of Hiyangthang Tarahei Chingya.
The police team detained Ayub Khan while he was coming on a Honda Activa HET, white in colour, having no registration number, in a suspicious manner. On verification, he could not produce an RC book or any other relevant documents to prove the vehicle ownership. On further verification, he disclosed that he had stolen the said vehicle from the roadside of Hatta Golapati near the water supply in the early morning of July 31, 2021.
A regular case has been registered against the said accused Md. Ayub Khan @ Mane under FIR No. 76(08)2021 LIL- PS U/S 379 IPC for investigation, source added.
