Imphal: Profesor N. Lokendra Singh, Vice- Chancellor of Manipur University; Professor N. Rajmuhon Singh, Vice-Chancellor of D.M. University; Dr. Indira Sarangthem, Dean of College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and representatives of Bir Tikendrajit University and other higher educational institutions met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Friday evening.
They discussed Viksit Bharat@2047 programme which will be held at Raj Bhavan on December 11 with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech (virtually) to the Vice Chancellors and heads of higher educational institutions throughout the country.
During the meeting, the Governor advised the VCs and representatives to ensure maximum participation of faculties and students in the programme so as to enable them to listen to the Prime Minister’s speech.
The Governor also asked them to carry on consultative meetings with faculties and students in their institutions of how a Vikshit Bharat should look like in 2047, what we need to do to reach this goal and what we can do to make Vikshit Bharat@2047 possible.
The meeting also discussed the panel discussion which will be organised after the Prime Minister’s speech at Raj Bhavan.
Mention may be made that the draft of the ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’ vision document, aimed at transforming India into a $30 trillion economy by 2047.

The document outlines the sectors and technologies in which India should lead by 2047 and addresses the necessary institutional and structural reforms.
