Imphal: A Legal team of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee led by its Chairman S. Shyam Charan on Monday submitted a memorandum to Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Manipur for rechecking the number of photos
similar entries in the electoral roll of 60 Assembly Constituency of the state of Manipur for its Correction of entries and inclusion of names in Electoral rules under Rule no. 26 of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960.
The legal team was accorded General Secretary, ADM S. Jeeten, General Secretary, ORG Md. Amir Hussain and General Secretary, MPCC Md. Wahidur Rahman under the instruction of the MPCC president K. Meghachandra Singh.
During the submission of memorandum, a team of MPCC Legal Department led by its Chairman S. Syam Charan demanded to the CEO Manipur for cancellation/correction of wrongly entries in the names with the photo in the difference electoral rolls of 60 Assembly Constituency in the State of Manipur by fraud and collusion with unknown persons under Rule 26 of Registration of Electors Rules, 1960 for conducting free and fair elections.
The memorandum based on reliable source said that there were 1,33,553 (one Lakh thirty three thousand five-hundred and fifty-three) number of photos similar entries in different Poling Stations of 60 Assembly Constituency in the State.
