Imphal: With the aim to vaccinate those children who haven’t got even a single vaccine(Left Outs) and those children who received few vaccines but didn’t complete (Drop outs), “Convergence Day” between the Social Welfare Department and Department of Health and Family Welfare was launched on Wednesday at various places in Churachandpur.
The event was jointly organized by Social Welfare Department and Department of Health & Family Welfare. Launching the event as the Chief Guest at Zenhang Lamka, Khaikhopau Ngaihte, ADC stated that vaccines are one of the most effective, affordable and safe methods to protect infants and children from diseases and mortality. He urged the health care workers, ASHAs and Anganwadi Workers and Helpers to
cover the partially and unvaccinated children in pockets of low immunization coverage, high risk and hard-to-reach areas and protect them from vaccine preventable diseases.
Officials from District Administration, Social Welfare department, department of Health and Family Welfare, ASHA Workers, Anganwadi Workers and Helpers participate on the occasion. “Convergence Day” will be implemented every Wednesday at selected Anganwadi Centres with an aim to vaccinate children
upto 5, 10 and 16 years of age.
On the other hand, district level ‘Convergence Day’ for Kamjong district was held at the Common Community Hall of Yeasom village at Kasom block.
Organised by the District Health Society and Social Welfare Department (ICDS), Kamjong, the pro-
gram was graced by Rangnamei Rang Peter, Deputy Commissioner, Kamjong; CMO Dr Lucy Duidang;
Yeosam village headman SP Ayo; and DPO ICDS Neeta Sareo as the main dignitaries in the dais.
As much as around a hundred of public including the village authorizes, church leaders and the villagers
attended the program and took good use of the event.
