Imphal: The Yaiskul Block Congress Committee staged a protest demonstration at Pooja Lampak, Wangkhei decrying the gun attack on the residence of MPCC Vice president Hareshwar Goshwami by the unidentified gunmen.
Speaking to media persons,Yaiskul Block Congress Committee President Akham Bimolchandra strongly condemned the gun attack on the residence of MPCC Vice President Hareshwar Goshwami on the intervening night of February 10 and
February 11 at a time when the leaders of BJP and Congress are engaged in a scuffle in the last few days.
He said that Hareshwar Goshwami is one of the prominent leaders of the state who is contributing his best part in many key issues of the state including Border pillar issue.
He said that the gun attack at the residence of the Congress leader who is fighting for the future of the younger generations is very unfortunate. The gun firing
incident has caused mental trauma and tension in the locality, particularly the children who are going to appear in examinations, he added.
Dubbing the gun attack as”lowly and cowardly” act, he said that whatever problem could be settled through peaceful discussion and appealed to the government to take up necessary
action at the earliest.
The culprits can be arrested easily if the government has a will. The government has already collected the bullets and the culprits
can be easily arrested by the government, he said, exuding confidence that the government will take up
necessary action so that such acts does not recur in future.
