The Yellow Sparrow penned by transgender activist Santa Khurai was launched at a programme hosted by UKIYO on Sunday. The author said it contains a serious narrative and will find special relevance in the transgender movement in the entire northeast region. The book encompasses the history of community mobilisation (related to transgender) and political conflict in Manipur from the 1980s to the present time. The comprehensive data contained in the book can be used as reference materials for research works on transgender and assist in preparation of initial groundwork for larger studies, he added.
