Imphal: All Manipur United Clubs’ Organisation (AMUCO) in collaboration with Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura to unveiled the newly constructed statue of NupiLan on April 30 at Gournagar under Khowai district in Tripura.

A press release issued by AMUCO Secretary Publicity Laishram Krishnachandra Khuman said that the first Nupilan statue will be unveiled led by AMUCO president Ph. Nando Luwang following ny featuring various cultural programmes. For this ocassion, a team of AMUCO will be leaving Imphal for Tripura on April 29.
It said that the unique courage shown by the Manipuri women during Nupilan fought against the British government on December 12, 1939. It said that the Nupilan statue has been an inspiration and giving courage to all Manipuri particularly to the Manipuri women residing in the state and outside state.
The release further said that the objective of unveiling the statue is to remember the courage of Manipuri women and to live proudly infront of the other people and communities. The decision of unveiling the Nupilan statue in one of the populated Manipur area was taken unanimously by the AMUCO and Manipuri Literary and Cultural Forum, Tripura during the observation of Nupilan held at Berimura on December 12, 2020, it added.
AMUCO in its press release lauded to every single person who extended supports in financially, morally, physically during the construction of the Nupilan statue.
