Imphal: Churachandpur Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) organised a lecture on prevention and cure of Malaria during monsoon for locals at Santing village, Churachandpur district on Tuesday.

The lecture was aimed at promoting cleanliness and maintaining hygiene and sanitation in the area. The locals were briefed on various prevention measures to be adopted by locals against Malaria and locally available cure medicines against the disease.

The event was organised to spread awareness amongst the locals and ensure cleanliness and hygiene at the village.  A total of 30 locals from Santing L, Santing U and K Zoar village participated in the event, informed a press release of IGAR(S).

Khuga Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) also conducted an awareness lecture on organic farming and use of latest technology in farming at Songdoi, Singhat, Beheng, H Khunou and Z Khunou villages, Churachandpur district on Tuesday.

As an effort to make people aware about the advantages of Organic farming including use of latest agricultural technologies to increase productivity while ensure no damage to chemical balance of soil a comprehensive lecture on the subject was conducted in border villages of Songdoi, Singhat, Beheng, H Khunou and Z Khunou, it said. 

The event included a detailed lecture followed by an interactive session where participants were made aware of various types of organic farming and its advantages over traditional farming and techniques/technology available in the said field. They were also made aware about the facilities and financial benefits extended by the Govt on the same. A total of 65 civilians took part in the drive and got benefited from the event, the press release conveyed.
