ATSUM to resume stir over RIMS recruitment

TMB Correspondent
Kangpokpi: Irked with the alleged deliberate breach of the tripartite agreement by the RIMS authority, the All Tribal Students’ Union Manipur (ATSUM) resolved to resume its suspended agitation from April 24.
It is worth mentioning that the tribal students’ apex body had a tripartite agreement with the state Government and the RIMS authority on April 3 in connection with reservation issues at RIMS, Imphal.
ATSUM’s Department of information and Publicity stated that in the wake of the RIMS authority’s failure to materialise the agreed terms of the tripartite agreement signed between ATSUM, RIMS and State Government on April 3 pertaining to cancelation of the RIMS notice dated March 3 for declaration of results for appointment to posts of LDC; fresh declaration of LDC appointment results with reservation as SC (3 pc), ST(34 pc) and OBC (13 pc) within one week time, and to follow existing rules and DoPT guidelines in matters of all recruitment to Group C and Group D posts, a joint meeting of ATSUM, subordinate bodies and Federating Units was held on April 17 to discuss the matter and seek further action plan.
It also stated that enraged with the deliberate breach of tripartite agreement by the RIMS authority, the meeting resolved to resume suspended agitation from April 24.
The student body demanded befitting action against the erring RIMS authority, implementation of the agreed terms of Memorandum of Agreement on April 3 signed between RIMS, ATSUM and State Government.
Further, while taking serious note of the alleged additional backdoor appointment of 15 posts of LDC in RIMS without proper reservation norms, ATSUM also demands the nullification of the said backdoor appointments.
