Kangpokpi: The situation created as fallout of the brutal murder of Seigunlal Misao in Kangpokpi’s Motbung Model village turned otherwise after the outlawed militant outfit “National Revolutionary Front Manipur”(NRFM) claimed responsibility over the killing of Seigunlal Misao accusing him of being a drug peddler.
The JAC against the brutal killing of Seigunlal Misao had earlier decided to claim the dead body lying at RIMS Morgue, Imphal on Tuesday after the state Government assurance to provide an ex-gratia, compassionate appointment to the eligible next of kin of the deceased and conduct necessary inquiries into the case on Monday after meeting with the JAC.
However, later on, the same evening, the National Revolutionary Front Manipur (NRFM) claimed responsibility and accused Seigunlal Misao as a drug peddler which infuriated the public compelling the JAC to take a u-turn over its decision to claim the dead body.
The JAC Convenor, Paominlun Lhouvum speaking to the media said that they were supposed to claim the dead body of Seigunlal Lhouvum today after conducting the postmortem but the responsibility claimed by the outlawed militant NRFM and accusing Seigunlal Misao as a drug peddler enraged the public, the
family members and the JAC are compelled to take a U-turn and ultimately decided not to claim the dead body.
He also said that the state Chief Minister and the district police head SP Kangpokpi had assured us to book the culprits even before any claim came up in the public domain but now the culprits openly come up in the public domain claiming responsibility over the brutal murder.
