Imphal: Rebutting the claim of Manipur Youth and Students’ Union (MYSU) about the leakage of exam question paper, Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BOSEM) has clarified that there is no leakage of question paper.
Talking to reporters at the mini conference hall at BOSEM, Babupara on Friday, BOSEM Secretary Dr. S. Mangijao Singh said that plastic bag containing sheets were found at around 11 AM at the toilet of the exam centre at Khangabok higher Secondary school. Later the plastic bag was burned down by the authority of the centre who thought that the plastic bag was garbage.
He said that on receiving the information of the incident, the BOSEM authorities called the authorities of the centre including SO, OC and AOC of the centre. The authority of the exam centre narrated the same incident as MYSU reported.
He said that there is no incident of copying the sheets as the recovered sheets have been burned down immediately by the officials of the centre. The board authorities instructed the authorities of the centre to take up precautionary steps in order to avoid such incident in the future again, to check all the students properly before they enter the centre and to strictly prohibit bringing in items such as mobile phones, smart watches and other related papers inside the centre, he added
He informed that the board authorities led by its Chairman and Secretary also inspected the spot where the plastic bag containing sheets was found. Regarding the handing over of question and answers sheets, he conveyed that the English Question paper & Answer sheets were handed over to the Police OC, exam OC and SO and AOC at about 8.10 AM and reached the exam centre at 8.25 AM. And at 8.47 AM, the trunk box containing English subject Question paper was opened in the presence of SO, OC and AOC. The video of opening the trunk box of every exam centre was sent to the board as per instruction of the authorities of BOSEM, the BOSEM Secretary added.
In connection with the incident, the authority of the board met with concerned Thoubal SP to which the authorities requested to deploy more police personnel at the exam centre particularly at the area where the plastic bag was found. Clarifying in connection with the claims made by the MYSU on question and answer sheet leakages, he said that there is possibility of question and answer leak because the timing of starting exam and plastic bag found was two hours difference. The authorities of the board are undergoing investigation regarding the incident, he further added.
On the other hand, when queried about the claim of not issuing admit card to one student of Bethel
English School Nambol Chingmang by the local clubs of Nambol and guardians/parents of the student,
BOSEM Under Secretary Computer Programmer Ch. Iboyaima clarified that the admit card of one student from Bethel English School was not issued due to unsuccessful payment of form fill-up even though
submission of form fill-up. He further clarified that the board does not issue the admit card of the student
intentionally or not due to technical error. Might be due to the climatic mistake of the school.
