MLA Haokholet inaugurates PMGSY road in Khoken village

Kangpokpi: The much-needed blacktopping road of Khoken village and its surrounding villages under Kangchup Geljang Sub Division in Kangpokpi district was finally accomplished and inaugurated by the local MLA Haokholet Kipgen on Saturday.

The formal inaugural ceremony of the blacktopping road under PMGSY was attended by the local MLA Haokholet Kipgen, Paotong Doungel, chief of Khoken, Lunthang Haokip, former ADC Sadar Hills Member,
Haokholen Kipgen, President SAHILCA, Paosei Kipgen, President Kuki Inpi Moltam Lhang in the presence of various other village chiefs, youth clubs, women society leaders of the area.

To mark the inauguration of the village’s first black-topping road, the local MLA performed the ribbon cutting along the road while it was dedicated by Rev. Demneh Doungel.

Visibly delighted Khoken village’s chief, Paotong Doungel said that the long cherished dream of the vill agers has been finally accomplished after many years while conveying the heartiest gratitude to the
local MLA for his commitment to delivering the scheme atlarger interest and concern for the people.

He continued that the people of Khoken will support and continue to work with the local MLA for the overall development and upliftment of the area. Local MLA Haokholet Kipgen strongly emphasised the importance of peace and harmony in the area and the essence of unity and collective effort for the round development.
He also stressed the importance of preserving and protecting the environment while he vehemently
urged the people to come forward in unison to the Government’s “War on Drugs” campaign for a
better future of the youths.
