ThirdImphal: The third session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly will commence from Thursday. The session will have only two sittings on February 2 and 3, as per a provisional calendar sitting issued by Assembly Secretary K Meghajit.

The session would be opened with Governor’s customary address to be followed by motion of thanks to the Governor’s address, obituary

references, presentation of Committee reports, if any and introduction of Government Bill(s), if any.

The second day session would feature questions, other business, if any, discussion on Governor’s address, consideration and passing of Bill(s), if any and private Members’ business, if any.

Meanwhile, in connection with the session of 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly commencing from Thursday, Superintendent of Police, Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur has effected traffic diversions in public interest and safety of the general public except for the vehicles of the VIP(s) from 6:30 am of both the days till the session is over.

According to a notification issued by, SP Traffic Control Police Wing, Manipur Wungpam Kasar, MPS, all heavy/commercial vehicles would be diverted from Sangakpham road to Salangthong, Khongnang ani Karak towards ISBT towards Lamlong thong or MMTA, MMTA towards Pandon crossing, Watham Leirak road to Thangmeiband, Uripok Canteen to Naoremthong/ Lamphel Super Market. Only heavy vehicles will be diverted from Singjamei to Pishumthong.

No commercial/heavy vehicles would be allowed to pass through the road stretching from Khongnang ani Karak, Lilasing Khongnangkhong, THAU ground DM College gate route, LIC Crossing, North AOC, Khongnang Ani Karak route. There shall be no diversion for any such vehicle detailed/engaged for emergency services/duties, it conveyed.
