‘No illegal immigrants in Chanam Sandrok’

Imphal :Chanam Sandrok Village Development Authority has clarified against the allegation that Chanam Sandrok has Kuki Immigrant enrolled in the beneficiary list of PMJAY during the tenure of ex pradhan H Suresh and that they have been enrolled in electoral roll since 2005.

Secretary Chanam Sandrok Village Development Authority, Irengbam Indrajit while talking to media in a press meet held at Manipur Press Club on Sunday stated that till 2017, there is no Kuki village and Kuki settlement in the area and stated that the alleged statement that they have been enrolled in Wangkhem Village since 2005 is not during the tenure of ex Pradhan.

He believed that there is conspiracy of political game and pointed out that there is no Kuki in the electoral list from 2017 till 2023 and no illegal immigrant. He stated that the Kukis which came to the village 13 years back were Christian missionaries and clarified that they have returned to Mizoram in 2013 and have enrolled themselves in electoral list of Mizoram.

Indrajit noted that the alleged statement that Kuki immigrant have been enrolled in 2005 in Wangkhem Village during ex Pradhan H Suresh is wrong and stated that Suresh was the Pradhan from 2007. He added that the Kuki immigrant who came to the village were Christian missionaries who have returned to Mizoram. 

He said that they had come to the state as Aadhar Card and ILP were not relevant during those days and clarified that the allegation against Suresh is wrong.

He pointed out that the enrollment of a person in Job card is not in the hands of a Pradhan and that of the department. He stated that he had no hands on it and appealed not to spread misleading statement that there is illegal immigrant in Chanam Sandrok and that the people want to stay in peace.
