Imphal: All Manipur Health Services Doctors Association(AMHSDA) threatened to launch cease work strike and shut down hospitals if the government fails to meet the demands
Speaking to media persons in a press meet held at Manipur press Club on Tuesday, General secretary Dr. Lolee P. Mao stated that the Association has earlier raised

a charter of demands which include setting a time frame for promotion of doctors in Manipur health and Family services, to extend the age of service till 65 years, to give 7 pay since January
2016, to appoint the post for Director General, to fully implement Transfer and posting policy of health services 2017. The demands were submitted in a memorandum to the Chief Minister and other officials.
However, the government has not taken up any fruitful action till today and as a protest the doctors carried out their duties wearing black badge, sit-in protest and blocked OPDs but the government
has paid no heed to the demands.

Stating that the government has been utilising the service of the doctors as essential services, he said that the government has turned deaf ears on the grievances of the doctors. He said that the
doctors working in the 16 districts under health services will carry out various forms of agitation and even shut down hospitals if the government still continue to neglect
the issue.
