Thoubal: Thoubal Distrct Police conducted house to house search operation at Lilong Usoipokpi area on Sunday morning during which one Maruti Alto LXI silver colour which is suspected to be a stolen one was recovered.
Police sources said a team of Thoubal commando led by Okramcha Wangkhomba, Additional SP(Ops), Thoubal assisted by N. Sadananda Singh, DSP(CDO), Thoubal under the supervision of Rakesh Balwal, IPS, Senior SP, Thoubal conducted house to house search operation at Ushoipokpi Tharaorok.
During the operation, the police team checked about 30 houses and recovered one Maruti Alto LXI silver colour bearing registration number MN01K/9093 which is suspected to be a stolen one. They also seized one duplicate smart card of the vehicle. Both the engine and chasis numbers seemed to be tempered.
The police sources disclosed that the car was recovered from the house of one Khulakpam Kaboklei (70), wife of Late Azad Khan of Ushoipokpi Tharaorok Chingol.
The operation started from 6 am and continued till 7 am. The recovered Maruti Alto car has been handed over to Lilong Police Station for conducting further investigation, it added.
