Imphal: Churachandpur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) recovered and seized 730 grams (with case) of Brown Sugar in 18 soap cases worth Rs 1.13 crore on Monday in the general area of T Khongkhai village.
Based on an input received from own source with respectto an individual carrying contraband items from across IMB, a MVCP of Churachandpur Battalion was launched in the general area of T Khongkhai village on Monday . At approximately 11.30 am, the MVCP noticed an individual approaching towards the MVCP from Khaukal Village. After noticing the presence of Assam Rifles troops in the general area of TKhongkhai, the individual on Kenbo bike moved towards Tuddim village and a bag slipped down from his shoulder.
On reaching the site, the MVCP column found 18 soap cases of Brown Sugar inside the bag. The recovered drugs were handed over to Sangaikot Police Station, Churachandpur for further necessary action, said a press release of IGAR(S).
