Imphal: Manipuri Students Federation (MSF) has called the press and publications concerned for putting stickers on the price of books of Class XI and XII without any consulting COHSEM and demanded the press and publications related to come to MSF HQ within Wednesday.
Vice- President of MSF, Hijam Roshan while speaking to media in a press meet held at MSF HQ, Kwakeithel Akham Leikai on Tuesday stated that members of MSF upon receiving information had visited the book stores and the books for Class XI and XII approved by National Council of Education Research and Training, New Delhi has been sold at higher price by putting stickers on the price of the books.
Condeming such acts, he said that the textbooks for Class XI and XII and reference books were sold at higher prices to the students by putting stickers above the price of the books.
Highlighting that class 11 Mathematics which is Rs. 210 has been sold at Rs. 250 and class 12 Physics part I subject which is Rs. 195 has been sold at Rs. 240, Chemistry class 12 part II which is Rs. 135 has been sold at Rs. 170 by sticking price sticker, Class 12 Maths part I which is Rs. 130 has been sold at Rs. 160, class 12 Prose & Poetry which is Rs. 150 has been sold at Rs. 180 and class 12 Maths part II which is Rs. 180 has been sold at Rs. 190, he appealed to the students and parents not to buy such text books and reference books which has stickers pasted.
He stated that the press and concerned authority must come to MSF HQ within tomorrow and appealed to concerned authority of COHSEM to look into the matter.
