Imphal: A combined team of Special CDO Unit Khabeisoi, CDO-IW, CDO-IE, Ukhrul District Police and women police constable of Porompat Women Police Imphal East led by Subedar L. Bebekananda Singh arrested two women overground workers of Manipur Naga Peoples’ Front (MNPF) at around 7:15 AM at Yaingangpokpi Awang Leikai on Thursday.
The two arrested women have been identified as Jorah Jajo (42) W/o Ruichumhao Jajo (49) and Leisa Jajo (22) D/o. Ruichumhao Jajo of Nongdam (T) village, Nongdam Lamlong Ukhrul, Manipur.
According to a source, on Thursday at about 5:30 am a reliable information was received from 16 Assam Rifle regarding presence of some unknown persons suspected to be hill based UGs organization in the general area of Yaingangpoki Bazar, Yaingangpokpi under Imphal East district.
On receiving the information a combined team of Special CDO Unit Khabeisoi, CDO-IW, CDO-IE, Ukhrul District Police and women police constable of Porompat Women Police Imphal East led by Subedar L. Bebekananda Singh OC-SPL/CDO under the command of Md Riyaj, DSP(OPS) Imphal West under the supervision of SP Railways & In-Charge Special CDO Unit, Khabeisoi Th Krishnatombi Singh under the overall guidance of Ningshem Vashum, SP-UKhrul rushed to the said area at around 06:30 AM and conducted search operation as preventive measures and to maintain law and order at Ukhrul District and also to apprehend the UGs who were involved in the serial bomb blast recently took place in Ukhrul district.
The combined team raided at the rented house of Thingom Robindro Singh (49) S/o (L) Th Tombi Singh of Yaingangpokpi Awang Leikai, Imphal East District. Further, Jorah Jajo disclosed that Ruichumhao Jajo used to demand and collect the money from March 2023 onwards by using her account no. 36177964332 SBI Porompat branch and her daughter’s (Leisa Jajo) G. pay mobile no.9863008357 and account no. 41000458997 SBI Ukhrul branch from the General public, Government offices and businessmen of Ukhrul district.
On checking the detainees, two mobile phone i.e. one Samsung A 32 phone (light blue in color) along with one Jio sim card having mobile no.9863008357 was recovered from Leisa Jajo and one Vivo Y53s phone (dark blue in colour),one Jio sim card having mobile no. 8837386955 were seized. One carry bag (light blue and grey in colour) containing two nos. of 1 kg Oats plastic bottle, two packets of 1kg Disano oats , 2 nos. of N 75 Aluminum foil, 2 nos. of wipers, 3 packets of 1 kg Chakki Atta were found from Jorah Jajo. The items were to be delivered to their camp as ration for the UGs cadres.
The above arrested persons along with seized items have been handed over to Yaingangpokpi PS for taking further necessary legal action against them.
