Imphal: A mass vaccination program for cattle was carried out in various areas in Kakching district under the aegis of Joint Director, Veterinary Department, Thoubal and Kakching, DR. S. Binokumari on Thursday.
The vaccination was conducted at Wangoo Sandangkhong, Kashartabi, Pungjaomakhong, Nungai and Nongyakhongban to prevent BQ (Black Quarter) and H S (Haemorrhagic Septicaemia) in cattles.
The vaccination programme was held in collaboration with Joint Director Thoubal and Wangoo Sandangkhong Social Welfare Youth Club, PYDO Club, Pungjaomakhong, WKYC, Kashartabi, NYDO,
Nongyaikhongban and NDA, Nungai.
The mass vaccination team was led by Dr. Ksh. Diana, Sugnu Veterinary Hospital. Following death of some
cattle due to unknown reasons at Wangoo Sandangkhong, the mass vaccination was carried out under the instruction of Joint Director of Kakching and Thoubal, Dr. S. Binokumari including Chairel and Nungu areas.
A total of 16 staff took part in 10 different vaccination centres 10 and a total of 488 cows and buffaloes were vaccinated for B Q and H.S.
