Imphal: Commonwealth Vocational University, Kingdom of Tongana has conferred Honorary Doctorate degree to Laishram Boby Devi in Social Work.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Ripu Ranjan Singha of the University conferred the honourary Doctor of Philosophy (Honouris Causa) to Laishram Boby Devi during the International Conference on Concept Development for Digital Education and Asia Iconic & Pride of India Awards presentation ceremony held at Hotel Radisson, Gurugram, Udhyok Bihar on Sunday.
Supreme Court Advocate Ashok Sood Shastri and Dr. Kiran Bongle also attended the function.
Laishram Boby Devi was born on August 19, 1979 at Khonghampat Awang Leikai. She is the daughter of Late Laishram Ibochaoba Singh and Late Laishram Ongbi Tombi Devi.
Since her childhood, Boby took part in many social works and was a Karate player who brought medals in state and National championships. She brought Bronze medal in 1993 in Karate championship.
In humanitarian service, Boby is also a regular Blood donor who has donated blood 10 times.
As General Secretary of All Manipur Students’ Union (AMSU), Khonghampat Branch in 1995 and Ibotonsana Girls Higher Secondary School, she also served for the students community.
In 2017, she was elected as Zilla Parishad member and served as Upa-Adhyaksha of Imphal West District Zilla Parishad.
She was earlier honoured with Jewel of North East Award-2015 by Global Brotherhood Forum, New Delhi, Bharat Excellence Award 2015 by Friendship Forum, New Delhi, Meidigoo Maharaj Okendro Sana Ningshing Mana 2021, Indian Award For Excellence 201 by Human Care Foundation, New Delhi and Manipuri Imagi Athoibi Mamomloi 2022.
