Imphal: 15th Edition of the Lt Col Bakshi Memorial Football Tournament commenced from Wednesday at Parbung village of Phrezwal district. The inauguration ceremony was started off with Flag hoisting followed by National Anthem and Garlanding of portrait of Lt Col Rajeev Bakshi, Sena Medal(Posthumous), conveyed a press release of IGAR (S).
Parbung Village Authority Chief Thanthang delivered the opening speech for the gathering. A total of eight Teams from the nearby villages are participating in the said tournament. The inaugural league match was played between the Damdei and Toulbung village Teams. All the attendees were instructed to adhere to COVID protocols for the entire duration of the tournament. The final match will be played on January 20 with all the villages vying for the coveted trophy, informed the release.
