Football match marks UYC’s 5th foundation day

Bishnupur: A friendly football match between United Youth’s Club (UYC) and Classic FC for under 14 years boys was played in connection with the 5th Foundation Day celebration of UYC, Wahengkhuman Mayai Leikai on Tuesday at UYC playground in Nambol A/C.

The occasion witnessed the presence of MLA Nambol A/C N. Loken, Leimapokpam Zilla Parishad Member L. Jiten, President AMFA M. Ratankumar, Upa-Pradhan Ishok Gram Panchayat L. Arun, Ward no. 5 Member O. Sanjoy, President DSA Bishnupur L. Naba and Advisor UYC A. Nitaibi as Chief Guest, Guest of Honours and President respectively.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA N. Loken said that teaching the children in the field of games and sports and to make them to have the habit of games and sports from the grass root level will help them to achieve lots of opportunity in their career as well as respectful and polite
persons. He said, it is time to understand that sportspersons earn more from a well educated government employee.

The MLA further said that as the Club did not have a proper building, a sum of Rs. 5 lakh has been donated from Leimapokpam Zilla Parishad Member fund and further required fund of the Club will be donated from the MLA Local Area Development Fund.

The MLA also said in relation to the politics that only two families from Nambol A/C have contested and won the election/vote held so far. One of the families has won the vote numerous times and has held the portfolio of Union Minister apart from becoming an MLA and MP. He has
also once become a Minister after electing as an MLA. Thus, acknowledging which family from the two families have contributed for the welfare of the people, do cast their votes wisely and select the qualified candidate, the MLA appealed.

President AMFA M. Ratankumar said that if we want to become a State, a society where the younger generations are taught to be respectful, non-liar, peaceful and far from drugs than the initiatives being taken up by UYC to promote games and sports is a good step.

The friendly football match was also played between UYC and Classic FC in connection with the celebration in which UYC beat Classic FC with a score difference of 2:1.

The MLA also awarded the two teams with cash prizes of Rs. 5000 each.
