Imphal: Arambai Tenggol has clarified that it has not given any instructions to indulge in the kind of activities perpetrated by utilizing its name during the Lok Sabha elections conducted today as suggested by several viral video posts being circulated. In the clarification, It said this could be the handiwork of the workers of the MLA of the given assembly constituency or the candidates contesting the polls.
Arambai Tenggol has nothing to do with the incident in which an Arambai Tenggol member allegedly strangled a woman that has gone viral , it said. Police must arrest those responsible for perpetrating such activities and take actions against them under the due process of law, it said, adding that Arambai Tenggol is doing its utmost best to find out those who are misusing its name. Lastly, it said, they want to inform the people that Arambai Tenggol has not not authorized such actions or given any instructions to do so.
Some who are trying to break apart the state are creating a bad image of Arambai Tenggol by using the elections as a pretext, it said.
