Imphal: The Department of Community Medicine, Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS)conducted a health talk programme on “Dengue Diseases and its Prevention” at the premises of Romita Thokchom, Singjamei Chingamakhong Chongtham Leikai, Imphal West.
The health talk programme was held as part of Urban Health Training Centre area of Shija Academy of Health Sciences, Langol. The programme was organised as a part of Compulsory Rotatory Medical Internship Posting for Foreign Medical Graduates (2023 – 24), and it was carried out by the Internees posted at the Department of Community Medicine, SAHS.
The programme was organised in collaboration with ASHA Workers of the area – Sunita Thangjam and Shantalata Thounaojam, and local club members of Singjamei Chingamakhong Chongtham Leikai.
The programme started at 11:30 AM and it was attended by 30 people (both men and women) from the locality. The interns were guided by the faculties of the Department of Community Medicine, SAHS and they gave an elaborate presentation on the topic using charts, distribution of flash cards, and it was followed by clarification of doubts of the participants.
The participants and the ASHA workers expressed their gratitude and appreciated the Department of Community Medicine, SAHS for organising such an events. They also expressed their desire to conduct such programmes regularly in their community. The programme concluded at 1:30 PM with a light refreshment.
