Churachandpur: As a follow-up action to the recent loot of cache of arms and ammunitions from Chongkhojou SoO camp, an operation was launched on Sunday by a special police team of Churachandpur district under the supervision of ASP Ops Deshorjit Singh, MPS and overall supervision of SP Churachandpur Shivanand Surve, IPS.
As informed by a source, on Sunday at around 2.40 PM, an encounter took place between the police team and suspected KIA cadres near Songphu village, about 20 km north of Henglep.
On search of the site after the incident, Ladies Carbine with one magazine, four Single Barrel (SBBL), AK 56 rifle with two magazines, three camouflage bags, two Chinese hand grenades, one live round of lethode, three pistols, 76 live rounds of AK 56, 22 Single Barrel Ammo and 3 empty cases and four live rounds of 9 mm pistol were recovered.
