Imphal: Teams of Imphal West Police Commando has arrested one active member of RPF/PLA organisation from his residence Singjamei Thongam Leikai on Thursday.
The arrested have been identified as Laishram Imocha @ Ibungochouba Singh (55yrs) S/o (L) L. Pushkor Singh of Singjamei Thongam Leikai.
According to a police source, he disclosed that he started working for the said organisation since 2010 through one Oman (Now expired) and presently working under the command of S/S Captain Imosh @ Bullu of Thongju Pheija Leitong presently staying at Myanmar.
He further disclosed that he along with one of his associates namely Sanasam Iboyaima @ Boyai of Singjamei Okram Leikai had extorted huge amounts of money from general public on the instruction of his commander. Immediately our team apprehended his associate from his house at 1 PM namely Sanasam Iboyaima @ Boyai @ Lambi (50) S/o S. Irabanta Singh of Singjamei Okram Leikai.
He also disclosed that he is also an active member of RPF/PLA organisation and started working since 2001 through one Momon of Bashikhong (expired) and presently working under the command of S/S Captain Imosh @ Bullu. He along with Imocha extorted money from Gas Agencies, Transport Bus Association, etc, added a source.
Further they disclosed that they were assigned the duty to distribute money for maintenance of their cadres families from the extorted money by their Commander s/s Captain Imosh.
From their possession recovered following articles such as four mobile phones, one Honda Activa white in colour (which was used in extortion matters) and one wallet containing Rs. 5140 one Aadhaar card and one voter ID.
The arrested persons along with the seized articles will be handed over to Singjamei PS for further necessary action.
