TMB report

Imphal: The RIMS Gate Transporter’s Joint Administrative Council Lamphel cautioned that no E-Rickshaws and E-Auto Rickshaws without permits issued by the concerned department should transport any passengers at RIMS Gate from April 10 onwards. The announcement was made by the Convenor of the RIMS Gate Transporter’s Joint Administrative Concerned Council Lamphel, Kh. Bota Luwang, during a press meet held at the Manipur Press Club on Saturday.

He conveyed that the representatives of the transporter’s council met and discussed with the Director and Deputy Director of the Transport Department on March 31 regarding the matter. He said that the council had decided to restrict the entry of E-Rickshaws and E-Auto Rickshaws, except diesel and petrol autos, at RIMS Gate due to various inconveniences faced by the council members, and the decision was made during a meeting held on March 26.

He also stated that the council had resolved that E-Rickshaws and E-Auto Rickshaws should not transport any passengers at RIMS Gate, but there would be no restriction on the reserve service. He cautioned all auto drivers who have no permits issued by the concerned department not to stick RIMS stickers at the side or back of the vehicle.

He warned that if any auto drivers without permits issued by the transport department violated the council’s restriction, they would be solely responsible for any unwanted incidents that may occur in the future.
