Imphal: Manipur People’s Party (MPP) former General Secretary SK Moirangcha has urged the concerned authority to vacate all the persons who claimed to be the authorised office bearers of the party.
He also urged the concerned bank authority to cease the bank account of the party contending that the party has no authorised office bearers to sign the related bank documents.
Talking to reporters at Manipur Press Club on Wednesday, MPP former General Secretary SK Moirangcha said that an application has been submitted to the District Magistrate and Superintendent of Police to vacate all the persons who claimed to be authorised office bearers of the MPP.
He said that with regard to the matter, an RTI application was submitted to the Election Commission of India, to which the commission categorically replied that as per available record, there are no authorised office bearers of MPP at present.
He said that it is very unfortunate for the party that as per their available record, there are no authorised office bearers of the grand old regional party at present.
Any members or representative of the party will not be allowed to contest in the ensuing election of various local bodies such as IMC, Nagar Panchayat, Gram Panchayat etc due to unavailability of record in the ECI, he said, adding that the party would not be able to contest in the next Lok Sabha election to be held in 2024.
He alleged that some individuals who claimed to be MPP authorised office bearers are plotting means of earning and benefits in the name of the party. He appealed to the people particularly the workers and well-wishers not to participate in any activity taken up by the current self-styled office bearers.
