Imphal: As a part of the government’s ‘War on Drugs’ campaign to curb drug menace in the State, Senapati District Administration and district police conducted a drone survey in the area of Oklong and
Makuilongdi. The drone survey was led by Project Officer of DRDA Senapati Lawrence S Khah and Executive Engineer T. Bijoy under the supervision of DC Senapati Mahesh Chaudhari. The drive started from 11 AM and continued till evening.
DC Mahesh Chaudhari said that during the drive, the team could not detect any poppy plantation in the area. He appealed to the people in the district to extend full support to the ‘War on Drugs’ campaign. He appealed to the people to destroy if there is any poppy plantation in their village. If the village refuses to destroy intentionally then stringent action will be taken up against them as per the law, he warned.
