Imphal: Informing that a Covid vaccination programme will be held at the community hall of Awang Sekmai Paraokhomba Development Association on August 10, Awang Sekmai Covid-19 Management Committee (ASC19MC) has appealed to the residents of Awang Sekmai area to get vaccinated on that day.
A press release issued by ASC19MC Chairman Angom Rajesh stated that the committee has organised a Covid-19 vaccination and testing at Awang Sekmai with the support from Sekmai AC MLA H.Dingo on June 26.
Till date, ASC19MC in collaboration with the Medical Department has conducted Covid testing on 932 persons out of which 151 were found to be positive for Covid-19. A total of 1997 people in different localities of Awang Sekmai have received Covid vaccine and 270 persons were given Ayush-64 tablets in collaboration with the Committee on Covid-19 Manipur, the release said.
The release mentioned that more than 300 persons were affected by Covid-19 and many have succumbed to the virus in Awang Sekmai.
Saying that ASC19MC has been working hard in containing the spread of Covid-19 in Awang Sekmai, the committee appealed to the people to support the initiative taken up by the committee in combating Covid-19 pandemic. It also appealed to the people to get vaccinated and tested at the earliest and abides by the Covid-19 SOPs and guidelines issued by the government.
