Imphal: As it is call Manipur as a power house of India in the field of sports six footballers from Manipur has been selected for Indian Nation football team.
The selected players are as follows Dheeraj, Chinglensana, Bipin, Udanta, Yasir Md and Suresh were including in Indian National Team among 28 (twenty eight) members
left for Qatar on May 19 for India’s forthcoming three matches for the FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar 2022 and AFC Asian Cup China 2023 Qualifiers.
Indian team is scheduled to play Asian Champions in Qatar on June 3, Bangladesh on June 7, and Afghanistan on June 15 at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium, Doha.
Among the 28 named for the squad, 6 (six) players are from Manipur. They are Dheeraj (Goal Keeper), Chinglensana Singh (Defender), Udanta Singh (Mid-Fielder), Suresh Singh (Mid-fielder), Yasir Md (Mid-fielder) and Bipin Singh (Mid-fielder).
